CBMC Japan

Chairman Satoshi Aoki

Praise the name of the Lord. CBMC Japan, the Japanese division of the worldwide CBMC group spread across 96 countries, once again has the opportunity to host the 20th National Prayer Breakfast. The National Prayer Breakfast is a gathering in the name of Jesus to pray for the country and its leaders. The very first event was held at the Miyako hotel in Osaka in November 2000, and ever since this gathering has met every year with one mission at heart -Spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every corner of Japan. “Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.”  Just as it says in Hebrews 11:1, something we have begun in faith has now grown to be a large non-denominational prayer meeting in Japan, to the glory of God.

The theme this year is “Seeking peace from Christ.” Nowadays, Japanese society is dealing with a variety of issues such as an aging population, the nuclear power plant challenges in Fukushima, various disasters and financial problems. In times like this, we must wind the fire of faith, be united in one spirit and spread the love and peace of Christ throughout Japanese society. Tokyo will play house to the Olympics this year. The Olympics is the world’s largest competition with the ultimate aim of human development and world peace through sports. We hope we can pray at this National Prayer Breakfast in Japan together for this purpose to be fulfilled in Japan
